Television Research Institute Jubilee. 60 years

On 15 of March, 1946 , the “All-union Television Research Institute” was founded in St. Petersburg, and nowadays, after being  re-named it is known as Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Television Research Institute” (TRI).

 The history of its establishment began before war, in the thirties, when on the base of several research enterprises in St. Petersburg, i.e. the state physical/ engineering institute, Leningrad's electro/physical institute, CRL TV laboratory, Scientific Research Institute of Tele-mechanics and  special purpose department VIEM , the TRI was founded , a predecessor of the Institute established in 1946.  

 Nowadays, the TRI is a multi-profiled enterprise specializing in research and development of  TV optical-electronic systems for observation and measurement. A high level of the latter R&D works was widely admitted, and it allowed the Institute to become a basic centre on research of the”TV and opto-electronic information- measurement complexes and systems” ( RASU order dated 03.02.2004, no. 26). It's difficult to name a TV technology direction where the impressive results wouldn't have been achieved, which were further used in numerous fields of science, technology, industry, medicine and different branches of national economy and for country defence. The Institute has a worldwide priority in development of space TV systems. A marine TV equipment is being developed that is successfully employed in our country and abroad. Thanks to its achievements in research and developments and creation of various professional TV equipment the Institute is known and highly valued by the native specialists and by foreign companies and international organisations either.
